After a long and forced hiatus due to covid-19 restrictions, we’re finally back this September (Sunday 19th) with a screening of the brilliant Sparrows Can’t Sing (1963) with Leytonstone Loves Film 2021.

Sparrows Can’t Sing (1963) Dir: Joan Littlewood was shot on location in Limehouse, Isle of Dogs, Stepney, and in Stratford in the early 1960s. Sparrows Can’t Sing captures a lost London of characters and locations. Featuring a stand-out early role for Barbara Windsor, it also stars James Booth, Roy Kinnear and Brian Murphy.
As part of this screening event there will also be a special performance of Kabecca’s Mapped Memories
